Isabel Guilisasti

President Of Fine Wines

Viña Don Melchor | Chile
Chile
Considered one of the most influential executives in the global wine industry, Isabel Guilisasti is responsible for elevating visibility and sales for Viña Concha y Toro’s fine wines around the world. Exporting to more than 130 countries and farming over 30,000 acres of vineyards in Chile, Argentina and California, Viña Concha y Toro is an acclaimed purveyor of wines including iconic selections
from celebrated terroirs.
Isabel is a member of the Guilisasti family, which has managed a controlling stake in Viña Concha y Toro since the 1950s. From an early age, Isabel and her siblings were exposed to winegrowing and the culture of the wine business. Growing up, they spent long seasons on the family farm, developing a close relationship and deep appreciation for agriculture. Today, Isabel leads Viña Concha y Toro with her brothers: Eduardo Guilisasti is Viña Concha y Toro’s Corporate General Manager, and Rafael Guilisasti is Vice Chairman of the company’s board of directors. Inspired by aesthetics, Isabel studied at Chile’s most prestigious art school, the Universidad Católica, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree. During her studies, Isabel learned from some of Chile’s most accomplished artists and art historians, an experience that created a strong foundation for her future as a marketing leader for Viña Concha y Toro.
Today, Isabel is known for her bold approach, creativity and keen business acumen honed over 20 years in the family business. Isabel began her career at Viña Concha y Toro in 1997, first as marketing manager of Viña Cono Sur, one of the holding’s subsidiaries. Then, in 2000, she took over as Marketing Manager of Concha y Toro’s Fine Wines division. In this position, Isabel
continuously fostered the highest standards in brands, content and corporate image, and oversaw the development of new brands.

Isabel is invigorated by the challenge of strengthening the winery’s international standing through high-profile brands from Chile, Argentina, and the United States.

In 2021, Isabel was appointed Viña Concha y Toro’s President of Fine Wines & Corporate Image. In her current position, Isabel brings her creative perspective, discipline and deep professional experience to fine wine, focusing on elevating visibility and appreciation of Viña Concha y Toro’s icon wines among global audiences. The most notable of these are Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmín de Peumo Carmenere and Amelia Chardonnay (all three from Chile), Eolo Malbec (from Argentina), and The Butler red blend (from California), among other terroir-driven wines that enjoy strong recognition from top critics.

In addition to her current role as President of Fine Wines & Corporate Image, Isabel has raised a third Guilisasti generation, who continue to lead in the wine industry. Her daughter Isabel Mitarakis Guilisasti is the winemaker for Unrated; her son Benjamin Mitarakis Guilisasti is Fetzer Vineyards’ Export Director; and her eldest son, Alejandro Mitarakis Guilisasti, is Marketing Director for Viña Emiliana.
In 2020, Isabel was nominated as Wine Executive of the Year by Wine Enthusiast magazine, and she is the first Chilean to have served on the board of VinExpo.
