Young Tancredi is the seventh generation of the Biondi Santi family. The Brunello di Montalcino produced at Tenuta Greppo, the old family estate, is a natural part of him. His roots are inexorably tied to this land where he spent his childhood and today, on this estate, he is putting to the test what he learns through his studies in viticulture and oenology at the University of Florence.

In Tancredi’s blood flows the same passion for Brunello that his ancestors had. Today, the philosophy of Tenuta Greppo is the same as 100 years ago. The values that we pursue are those of Ferruccio, Tancredi and Franco. We continue to craft our wines in the same way they did, and we all learned from the inventor of Brunello, Clemente Santi. Brunello Biondi-Santi is a pillar of Montalcino. A product born from a unique terroir and created by a family led by pure passion for Sangiovese.

Being wine ambassador for a wine like Brunello di Montalcino Biondi-Santi means sharing culture. It is such a big responsibility that must encompass both respect for tradition and openness towards the future.  In the history of Biondi-Santi there was another Tancredi, your great grandfather: He was amazing. My ambition? To be able to produce a wine like his Riserva 1955, the quintessential expression of Brunello Biondi-Santi, which was chosen by “The Wine Spectator” as one of the best 12 wines of the 20th century.
