We celebrated a true South American icon.

In 1981, Susana Balbo made history as Argentina’s first female enology graduate, eventually becoming the first woman elected President of Wines of Argentina—a role she held for three terms. This was the start of a legendary career defined by innovation and an unwavering commitment to the global prestige of Argentine wine.

This year, we were honored to welcome Susana’s daughter, Ana Lucia, to the NWF. She led us through a curated tasting of their award-winning portfolio. Joining her was acclaimed chef Flavia Amad, representing Susana’s two Michelin-recognized restaurants in Mendoza, who provided signature “lite bites” to perfectly complement these world-class wines.
