It wouldn’t be stretching the truth to say that Tim Snider knows the wine business from the ground up. His first job in the industry was driving a tractor preparing the ground for his family’s vineyard in Knight’s Valley, Sonoma County, CA. in 1985. For six summers Tim participated in the development of the Snider family’s vineyard working on wide ranging projects. Though Tim didn’t know it at the time, the summers spent in the vineyards would spark a lasting passion for the wine industry.
After graduating from Williams College in Massachusetts, Tim embarked on a 7-½ year stint at the E&J Gallo Winery. During his tenure with Gallo, Tim was fortunate to gain broad industry experience starting at the bottom as a street sales person and culminating as Marketing Manager working on successful brands Ecco Domani and Marcelina. In between he served as a Regional Sales Manager in Northern California.
In September of 1999 Tim left Gallo to head up marketing and sales at Fess Parker Winery. In 2010, Tim was named President of the winery. Over the course of his time with the winery he has been instrumental in the growth and development of the family’s wine business. Tim is proud to be part of the creation and launch of the Fess Parker single-vineyard tier of wines, the boutique rhone-focused brand, Epiphany, Frontier Red, sparkling project Fesstivity and, most recently, Addendum, sourced from vineyards in Napa Valley.
In addition to his work at the winery Tim has also served on the boards of numerous organizations. He is the current President of the Santa Barbara Vintners’ Association. He has also served on the advisory boards of both the World of Pinot Noir and the Rabo Bank Regional Advisory Board. He is also the past President of the Los Olivos Business Organization.
Tim lives in Santa Barbara with his wife, Ashley Parker Snider. In his free time Tim is an avid sports fan(49ers’, SF Giants and Golden State Warriors) and enjoys playing golf, basketball and occasionally his garage drum set.
