Since joining Silver Oak Napa Valley in 2009, Laura has played a pivotal role in advancing analytical protocols, developing rigorous quality control standards, and streamlining winery operations. Today, as Winemaker for the Napa Valley bottling, she oversees every aspect of production—from harvest and fermentation through bottling and global shipment—ensuring each bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon arrives in impeccable condition.
Originally from Connecticut, Laura earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Simmons College in Boston, where she developed a strong scientific foundation with a focus on microbiology. Her academic work culminated in a thesis on cross-contamination conducted in collaboration with Procter & Gamble.
While Laura initially envisioned a career in medicine, her path shifted during continued medical studies in Denmark, where she discovered a deep appreciation for the connection and warmth fostered around the dinner table over a shared bottle of wine. Upon returning to the U.S., she enrolled in the Enology and Viticulture program at the University of California, Davis—marking the beginning of her career in winemaking.
Laura lives in Napa Valley with her husband, Phil, and their two daughters.
