Anthony and Olive Hamilton Russell owners of Hamilton Russell Vineyards in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Hermanus, South Africa.
Anthony, born in Cape Town, completed a BSc in Biological Sciences followed by an MA in Geography at Oxford. He worked in Corporate Finance for Morgan Stanley in London for two years prior to completing an MBA at Wharton where he graduated on the Dean’s list. Following this, he worked in London for Bain and Company. In 1991 Anthony returned to take over the family farm, Hamilton Russell Vineyards, which he purchased from the family in 1994. He focused this property on Pinot noir and Chardonnay alone. Anthony is a Chevalier du Tastevin and a Commandeur de Bordeaux.
Olive grew up on a farm outside the town of Ermelo in the north of South Africa, which has been in her family for almost 200 years. After majoring in Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Stellenbosch, she worked in food product development and buying in London and Cape Town, and eventually home-ware buying before marring Anthony and becoming fully involved in Hamilton Russell Vineyards.
