Enjoy an evening of Stargazing with the Maria Mitchell Association while sipping Taylor Fladgate cocktails, rose wine, and other indulgences at the famed Loines Observatory where the stars in the Nantucket sky take over for the night!

MMA Astronomer, Dr. Geoffrey Clayton, will guide you through the constellations and let you peer at distant celestial bodies, and perhaps Saturn, through the antique 8″ Alvan Clark telescope and the 24″ Cassegran research telescope. Learn more about the constellations, phases of the moon, the planets, and why eclipses happen.

Transportation is available to and from the Nantucket Hotel to Loines Observatory by the Maria Mitchell Association.

In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for this event will be Saturday May 30th, 2026 at the same time.

This program is for adults only. Pre-registration is recommended as there is an event capacity. Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

We understand that plans change! Because we are a small non-profit that benefits from the contributions made by our

generous patrons and supporters, cancellations make it more challenging for us to manage program enrollment.

Please note that the ticket price is considered a donation to the MMA. In the event of a complete event or program cancellation due to inclement weather, tickets will not be refunded and the $100 will constitute a tax-deductible donation to the MMA for which you will receive an email acknowledgement noting donation amount.

All offerings are subject to cancellation by the MMA at any time, with or without notice for reasons deemed necessary by the organization. In the event of a cancellation by us, we will notify registrants within 3 hours of the event.
