Ratti is a name, long synonymous with Barolo. The Ratti estate is situated entirely within the commune of La Morra, the highest-elevation commune, known for the most elegant expressions of Barolo.
Founded in 1965, Pietro Ratti, son of Renato Ratti, now runs the famed winery. Located in Piedmont (foot of the mountains) northwestern Italy, the region is an undulating patchwork of vineyards and ridges, creating elevations that vary by 300 meters or more. The subsoils are of marine/sedimentary origin and the soils vary from hard-packed clay to more eroded and less fertile sandstone. Varied soil, elevation, and minerality result in wines boasting great integrity and depth.
Enjoy the Italian-inspired cuisine of current James Beard Semi-Finalist Chef John DaSilva. This five-course dinner will feature thoughtful wine pairings presented with tails from the vineyards.
John da Silva is chef/owner of Boston’s Chickadee, the wildly popular restaurant at 21 Dry Dock, known for their local farm ingredients and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
This event will take place in the intimate setting of a private island residence with just 20 guests and will begin with a Champagne reception at 7:00 pm
