Nino Negri produces Nebbiolo (locally called Chiavennasca) from the heart of Valtellina, in Northern Lombardy, between the Po Valley and Switzerland, where difficult landscapes and steep terrain require extraordinary measures to tend to the vines and to harvest. Nestled among the Rhaetian Alps, the vineyards are so steep that they have to rent helicopters to send a rope down to lift the baskets of hand-picked grapes away from the team down to the winery!

Nino Negri is one of Italy’s most decorated estates. It is single-handedly responsible for elevating Valtellina to the world stage.
