As Director of Marketing for Donelan Family Wines, Cushing Donelan brings a diverse background in brand development, entertainment production, and creative strategy to his role. Driven by a passion for storytelling and connection, he is focused on strengthening the Donelan brand and building lasting relationships with consumers, grounded in trust, quality, and family tradition.
Raised in a coastal town in Connecticut, Cushing was introduced to wine at an early age through his father, Joe Donelan, co-founder of PAX Wine Cellars. Family gatherings filled with wine, celebration, and shared memories sparked his appreciation for the role wine plays in bringing people together.
Cushing studied art history and studio art at Amherst College and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. His interest in entertainment led him to Southern California, where he worked closely with Matthew McConaughey and his company, j.k. livin productions, ultimately holding a creative executive role. He later founded the production company oneinarow, developing both scripted and unscripted television projects.
In 2012, Cushing officially joined the family wine business full-time. Founded in 2009, Donelan Family Wines has since become a true family endeavor, with Cushing playing a central role in shaping the brand’s voice and growth. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children and enjoys staying active, surfing, playing hockey, and cooking with friends—always over a great bottle of wine.
