Yannick Benjamin’s remarkable journey, marked by resilience, predates a life-altering car accident in 2003. Even before facing this challenge, he had already made significant contributions and honed his craft while working at esteemed establishments such as Le Cirque, Jean-Georges, Felidia, and Atelier at the Ritz Carlton. These early experiences set the stage for his enduring commitment to excellence in the world of wine and hospitality.
As the co-founder of Contento Restaurant in East Harlem and the visionary behind Beaupierre Wines & Spirits in Hell’s Kitchen, Yannick has continued to elevate the dining and wine experience. Notably, he was honored with the MICHELIN Guide New York 2023 Sommelier Award, a testament to his unparalleled expertise and dedication to the craft.
At the helm of Beaupierre, a family-led establishment rooted in French heritage and Hell’s Kitchen natives, Yannick has created a unique space where family values coalesce with inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability.
Yannick is also a co-founder of Wine on Wheels, an organization uniting wine enthusiasts and sommeliers for charitable endeavors. His story of overcoming challenges and his commitment to
