Chef Michael Scelfo’s passion for cooking was shaped early, growing up in family kitchens where food served as a language of connection, tradition, and care. Drawn to the energy and generosity of those gatherings, he developed a style rooted in hospitality, balance, and thoughtful simplicity.

Today, Chef Scelfo is the chef and owner of Alden & Harlow, Waypoint, The Longfellow Bar, and Josephine, each an expression of his belief that the best restaurants feel personal, welcoming, and rooted in place. His cooking blends American and Italian influences with coastal inspiration, shaped by time spent along both the Atlantic and Pacific. His work has earned national recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, Food & Wine, the James Beard Foundation, and Boston Magazine. Across each concept, Chef Scelfo remains guided by a simple principle, cooking food he wants to eat, in rooms where people feel at home, and creating experiences that invite guests to linger a little longer.
