At 20 years old, Philibert joined the business school of Dijon to study international trade and in the same period completed a two-
year internship at Maison Louis Jadot in Burgundy and graduated after 2 years. At 22 years old, he joined the University of Bordeaux IV to deepen his knowledge of international wine trade. During this time, he carried out internships related to his
training: La Passion des Terroirs (Lucien Lurton vineyards) in Bordeaux, Domecq Bodegas in San Sebastian (Spain) and CVBG-Dourthe-Kressmann in Bordeaux again.
In 2007, Philibert began working with Groupe Thiénot Bordeaux Champagne as Export Manager based in Bordeaux and moved to New York in 2009. In connection with the American distributors, he was in charge of the Group’s wines portfolio on the East Coast and more precisely on New York. He also represented a range of Argentinian wines in partnership with Michel Rolland (Clos de Los Siete, Diamandes) and Eduardo Chadwick’s Chilean wines (Arboleda & Seña) still in the United States.
In 2013, he joined Maison Louis Jadot in Beaune as Worldwide Export Manager (Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg,
Israel, Lebanon, South Africa…) – 36 countries in total and in 2019, he took over the USA and Canada for 3 years (market #1
& #4). During all these years, he endeavored to maintain relations with importers, develop new business opportunities and organize events in different countries.
In 2022, he gave his career a new direction by joining Maison Olivier Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet as Sales Manager. Both on the French market and abroad, he strives to represent Olivier’s wines but also to promote the Champagne brand Valentin Leflaive.
