Luncheon Symposia
The Nantucket Wine Festival is proud to continue the luncheon symposia program begun in 2008. This year, we offer a series of four great wine symposium/luncheon events at some of Nantucket's best addresses. The program will unfold with a one-hour symposium featuring distinguished winemakers, who will lead a discussion of their wines with the assembled guests. Each of these events will be limited to 40-60 people, thus retaining the intimacy and scale that distinguishes our festival. Immediately after the symposium, the guests will be treated to a four-course luncheon of superb cuisine featuring the wines of the guest winemakers. Luncheon Symposium: West Coast Pinot Meets East Coast Cochon Featuring the cuisine of Chef Michael La Scola. American Seasons is nestled downtown in the heart of the historic district. In its 23 years of operation it has consistently remained at the top of the not-to-be-missed restaurants for foodies and wine buffs alike. The restaurant has become known for Chef Michael LaScola's imaginative and creative take on New American Cuisine, beautifully presented and flawlessly served. The kitchen is renowned for using seasonal produce from small local growers and producers. Chef LaScola has cooked three times at the The James Beard House in New York. Under the direction of his wife, Orla Murphy-LaScola, the wine list has received the coveted Best of Excellence Award 2005-2010 from Wine Spectator and the Award of Unique Distinction 2003-2010 from the Wine Enthusiast. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and always make you feel right at home.
