Nantucket Island is renowned for its natural beauty, stunning architecture, cosmopolitan fare, and, of course, its 19th century role as a whaling community. From May 13-17, 2009, the world's historic whaling capital will become the nation's wine capital during the 13th annual Nantucket Wine Festival.
"...the Festival...has become one of the best wine events in the nation, with some of the finest global wine talent on hand every year...." (Quarterly Review of Wines, Spring 2008)

What's New in 2009?
Luncheon Symposia We have expanded our Luncheon Symposia program because it proved so popular in 2008. In 2009, we will hold four Luncheon Symposia featuring wines from Spain Burgundy France and America. For one hour, guests participate in an interactive symposium with great winemakers. After the symposium, guests will sit down for a beautiful four-course meal accompanied by the wines of the participating winemaker(s). Combining learning with the pleasure of the table makes the symposium a festival attendee’s favorite event. Seating at each of the four Luncheon Symposia is limited to 40-50.
Luminary of the Year Nantucket Wine Festival's Luminary of the Year award recognizes an individual whose work has had a profound effect upon the landscape of wine. Our 2nd Annual Winner is Ray Coursen, the winemaker and owner of Elyse Vineyards. Named by Robert Parker as one of the ten best winemakers in the United States and one of the greatest guys in the wine business, Ray's wines have always offered great quality and great value.
